Jefferson Miller has been an award-winning filmmaker and cinematographer for over 20 years; his projects have been seen on network and public television internationally. Miller's extensive production experience has taken him throughout the United States and much of the world including the Caribbean, Mexico, South America, Myanmar, China, Japan, Korea and Europe.
In 2003, the film TWIN TOWERS, with Miller as co-Director of Photography, won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short. Earlier, he directed and shot "Capital of Earth: The Maroons of Moore Town, Jamaica which received top honors at the Margaret Mead Film Festival.
Recent projects have included films for PBS's Frontline, American Masters and Nova as well as for BBC Channel 4 London, A&E Biography, History Channel and National Geographic.
Currently in production are films for the Discovery Channel ("Mega-Carrier", a six year effort to build the world's largest aircraft carrier) and PBS ("Phil Ochs", an tribute to folk music's forgotten genius). Also in pre-production is "Size Matters-The Nanotech Project", (Danny Glover-Louverture Films) a feature documentary slated for early '08.
Besides his documentary work, Miller has also shot commercials for NBC's "The Apprentice", "Conviction" and Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart".
He has also directed music videos for Grammy-winners Burning Spear and Black Uhuru as well as Steel Pulse and Sister Carol.
